My Scotland

This is my Scotland.
We found this last weekend at some crazy army surplus store. Funny, I don't think the army has an excess of Scotts fuel pumps, but whatever. Don't mind the two guys checking it out. They came free with the picture...

In Las Vegas, Kari and I had lunch at this tiny restaurant called Scotty Beans. I am trying to convince her that "Scotty Beans" would be a more appropriate nickname for him than her current preference, "Scotty the hottie." It just doesn't sound right coming from her...

This is Smitty after he has been working in the garage. Dirty boy!
.
Sometimes I get to just hang out and snap random picture of him. This amuses him for a bit, and then he just ignores me.

Last weekend, after we went to the funeral for baby Benjamin, Scott told me he wanted to go see some friends from his mission that live in Salt Lake. Since he was such a good sport about meeting all my friends, I agreed. When he pulled into a church parking lot, I figured he was lost. When he said that we were going to meet his friend Tovo there, I figured he was joking. When he introduced me to his mission president and told me that he had brought me to his mission reunion, I knew he was crazy.

What an experience! Tons of people were there, most of them with their spouses/kids or whatever. Some were his companions and dear friends, others he didn't know at all, but I think Scott spoke to just about everyone there. I was completely blown away at how sociable he was, sharing stories and introducing himself and me to everyone! It was a lot of fun listening to all of those former missionaries switch back and forth from English to Spanish as they laughed and told stories about Panama.

He keeps me on my toes, that is for sure. Whether he is showing up at work with a treat for me, or if he is introducing me to strangers, he is constantly surprising me.
